Square Clapper

from $25.00

My seams have never been flatter!

A tailor’s clapper is used to achieve flat, crisp seams. This tool originated in the garment sewing space, but it is so useful for quilters! After pressing the seam, place the flat bottom of the clapper on top of the hot seam. As it cools, the wood absorbs the heat and steam, and the weight of the clapper leaves the seam nice and flat! A clapper works on any normal flat ironing surface or with a wool pressing mat.

This clapper is made from unfinished maple hardwood; it has rounded top edges and tapered top handle for an easy grip. Each clapper is handmade from start to finish by me!

Clapper size: 5.5 x 5.5 x 0.75 inches & 7.25 x 7.25 x 0.75 inches
