1.  What is the difference between US Letter and A4 paper? US Letter is the standard size paper for residents of the US and Canada. A4 is the standard paper size for residents outside the US and Canada. Please select the pattern download paper size based on your location!

  2. Why do you only allow 24 hours to download a pattern? This is a policy from Squarespace, the company that hosts my website, not me. However, it’s easy to get another link! Just click on download link from the original email, and Squarespace will automatically send a refreshed link for you to download the files. Your purchase does not expire, and you don’t have to email me to get a new link!

  3. I haven’t received a link to download my pattern - help! There are a couple possible solutions here:

    • First, please check your spam email.

    • Second, please check to see if you received a purchase confirmation. If you are missing the purchase confirmation email AND the download link, there’s a good chance that the email address was input with a typo. Contact me, we’ll check your email, and get you a link to download the pattern!

  4. Why is Google Chrome saying the file is unsafe or dangerous? This is a new security precaution from Google Chrome that is leading to a lot of questions. The download files are safe, and they download without issue on another browser like Mozilla Firefox or Safari. I have contacted Squarespace and “providing customers reassurance that the files are safe” is the only help they have offered. I find this as frustrating as you do.

  5. Can you just email me my file? So sorry, no. It would be impossible for me to fulfill pattern orders efficiently via email. Please use the link to download the purchased files. See 2 & 3 for questions on the download link.

  6. Why does my pattern download as a .zip file? I want my PDF! Here is a guide on downloading and opening .zip files. For several years, I’ve had requests to include both at home printing and copy shop (large format) printing options. In order to supply multiple print sizes in one downloadable file, I must put them in a .zip file. There are options to unzip a file for free on both PC and Mac. (Winzip is not required.)

  7. I downloaded my file on my iPad / iPhone / tablet and it doesn’t look right - help! For the best results, I always suggest downloading the pattern on a computer. Downloading on a PC or Mac provides more reliable results than downloading on an iPad.

  8. Can you help me troubleshoot my printing issues? I wish I could solve all printing problems remotely. My goal is to provide a file that can be downloaded and opened successfully. The best tips I have for printing issues: print from a computer (not an iPad), make sure you are printing the file at 100% scale, and print at normal (not draft) print quality.

    • "My printed lines do not line up exactly - help!” Not all printers are created equally! I once owned a printer where the lines were off by 1/16 inch and didn’t line up perfectly. For my quilting practice, I need more accuracy than this. The printable templates can be sent to a copy shop for printing as an alternative to printing at home.

  9. Will you resize a quilt pattern for me? So sorry, no. The quilt patterns are thoughtfully designed and sized for successful printing, piecing, and quilting. Attempts to resize patterns by makers usually ends in frustration. The best bet for success - make the pattern as written.

  10. When are you teaching an online class? I’m teaching for many guilds in 2023! Keep an eye on Instagram and my website for announcements on open workshop spaces. Occasionally I’ll list a stand alone class on the Online Classes tab.

  11. Do you sell paper patterns? Will you print the pattern and mail it to me via snail mail? I do sell a limited number of paper patterns. If you see “Paper Pattern via Snail Mail” on the Quilt Pattern page, it is available.

  12. How do I join your newsletter / mailing list? Easy! There is a popup on my website in the lower right hand corner of the screen where you can enter your email. If you give your email, you’ll get a coupon code for 10% off your next pattern purchase! An alternative way, download the free quilt facing tutorial, and check the box to “Tell me when a new pattern is available!” at checkout - this will also add you to the mailing list.

  13. UGH! My question isn’t on this list! Okay - thanks for checking! Send me an email here.
